Learning Japanese Integrated Natural Medicine
This page covers how you can learn Japanese integrated physical medicine and Japanese integrated internal (naturopathic) medicine with Mr Christopher Roworth
Firstly: We only accept dedicated and sincere people who can demonstrate thier commitment and ability to learn these ways! "Amatsu Ryoho" from the Hichibuku Goshinjutsu tradition requires true commitment and dedication!
Secondly: As you learn you can 'earn' but earning money should never be or become your goal in life! As you learn and earn (Energy back) you must also embrace the 'concepts' that Amatsu Ryoho (Amatsu medicine) is not for 'showing off, earning a fortune or becoming a celebrity' but a way of helping ourselves, other people and even our planet!
So here is our course programme which is taught by Mr Chris Roworth and post graduates of this course. Please understand that this is merely a 'synopsis' of training!
Course Duration - 5 Years
Outline of our training programme
Our Japanese integrated natural medicine course takes four and a half years to learn, with six months of post qualification clinical experince (at Mr Roworth's clinic) making a total time of five years training.
Earn as you learn - developing true natural skills and abilities
Because Japanese integrated natural medicine has two parts (Physical and Internal medicine - which naturally correlate with each other) students first qualify in Integrated physical medicine which they can then use to help (Treat) people as they continue thier studies. This enables students to earn as they learn more.... And use their skills and abilities to help others...
Training synopsis
The following is a synopsis (quick look at) our training programme - for clarity we have divided this into 'years' or the areas studied and learned during the relevant academic training years. which is further sub divided into the practical and theoretical skill developments
Pre study pack
Prior to joining the course all students recieve a pre study pack, which covers the principles and philosophy of Japanese Integrated Natural medicine, in preperation for training and basic Western anatomy and physiology. Which students should learn and understand.
Year one
Theory / academic studies; During the first year students learn through modules of home study and directed study; the bones and muscles of the musculoskeletal system, the principles of the "Godai" In/Yo and the five phases. Whilst also developing an understanding of the various systems of our body from a "western" perspective. For example; The digestive system, the endocrine system and the circulatory system. The emphasise in these 'theoretical' studies is an overview of the body systems and the meridian/organ connections
Practical studies; Commence with "Self Treatment" where the students learn a self treatment routine to improve the harmonious balance of the muscles, joints, energy and organ systems, whilst developing the ability to feel themselves.
Whilst learning massage and acupressure techniques, for the localised correction and balancing of the muscular and meridian system - bringing together massage and acupressure/shiatsu, alongside a "head to toe" balancing routine; known as "Shoden no maki" (first step)
Students are also taught; How to observe and 'feel' (Palpate) other human beings whilst learning 'balance' skills of what can be termed "Touching or pushing hands" alongside "Balance taking" which are the basis of 'old' martial arts and medicine.
Additional studies and training in year one
During year one; students also learn basic posture and muscle testing procedures, which include the assessment of Gait (Walking) Pitch (Bending) individual muscle tests and kinesiology localised muscle tests. In conjunction with basic orthapedic tests.
Year One Award
On completion of the modules of home study and practical tuition the students complete a written (Theory) and practical examination (In conjunction with ongoing assessments) to evaluate the aquired skills and abilities. Succesfull completion leads to the award of a licence in Japanese "Anma" - Massage with acupressure.
Year Two
Is where the students develop and enhance thier 'Palpation' skills and learn how to prevent and correct localised physical injuries such as; lumbago, tennis elbow, footballers knee, sacro-iliac strain, piriformis inhibition, icv syndrome, frozen shoulder, sports injuries, etc...
Theory / academic studies; Are 'centered' around the musculo-skeletal system and the meridian / organ systems of the body and involve the learning of the joints, ligaments, tendons, acupressure points for specific conditions and the understanding of physical health conditions.
Practical studies; Include the learning of localised corection 'methods' of the joints, ligaments, tendons and the spine (In conjunction with the "Shoden balancing") so that they can assist in the prevention and treatment of spine and joint conditions, muscle aches, pains, pulls and strains, sports and martial arts injuries - and 'most' physical ailments
Additional studies include:
More muscle testing and ortheapedic motion testing procedures, the nutritional and emotional interlink of the "Physical" aspect of health and mobility and directed research into the evaluation and treatment of physical health. In conjunction with the 'learning' of "Locks" to the body, which include; wrist, elbow, foot, knee, shoulder, hip and spine - to understand how "trauma" can effect the localised area and the entire person.
In addition; students learn how to "Integrate the mind and body" (Taijutsu) so that they protect themselves from harm during treatment and learn how to utilise the "entire body" in integrated action and reaction. This is also the basis or foundation of traditional Japanese martial arts. Learning the basics of true self protection.
Award
On completion of the written and practical examinations (including ongoing assessments) students are awarded a practitioners licence in Japanese integrated physical therapy. Enabling them to 'practice' Japanese physical medicine Japanese Physical Therapy and Sports therapy
Year three
Commences with "self treatment" where the practitioner brings together knowledge and experince in 'first' a self treatment approach and then considers how to improve the systems of the body in a natural way
Theory / academic studies; are centered around the internal organs, their functions and interactions with each other, the interlink between the organs/meridians, within emotional health, physical functions, digestion, excretion and healthy balance. Whilst covering the 60 most common herbs and formulas used in J.I.M.
Practical studies; Build on from the acupressure and visceral techniques to include the use of needling (Acupuncture) moxa and magnetic treatments of the specific points on the body related to both the meridians and trigger points.
Additional studies include: The understanding and use of both the 'points' on the human body, which can cause harm, and the points which can both prevent this 'effect' and help in both prevention and recovery. These are integrated with physical therapy and internal medicine.
Year Four
This is essentially a clinical practice year - where cases are studied evaluated, given differential diagnosis consideration and then reviewed. Students are encouraged to build thier own database of treatments based on the tongue and 'Mu' alarm points.
Practical studies; Involve physical and internal medicine treatment protocols based on clinical assessment. This develops into group diagnosis and treatment of 'Live' patients.
On completion of the theory and practical examination students are then invited to work in supervised clinic - treating people under peer supervision and to undertake 'peer supervised' use of the natural Amatsu Ryoho / Amatsu medicine in prevention, enhancement & recovery
Award: Practitioner Licence in Internal Medicine
Year Five
Is essentially one to one training and experince in Mr Chris Roworth's clinic, including reviews of case studies, 'trainining' with Chris and 'true' clinical experince!
