The prevention and treatment of physical health, emotional conditions, digestive conditions, irritable bowel, headaches, migraines, stress, etc. Japanese internal medicine integrates Japanese physical therapies alongside; Japanese nutrition, Japanese herbal medicine, kampo, visceral balancing, meridian and organ balancing, Japanese acupuncture, etc...

INTERNAL JAPANESE MEDICINE

Japanese internal medicine is devoted to the internal systems and functions of our body. Which include the circulation of blood and 'energy' the removal of toxins and the provisions of nutrients.Whilst at the same time the 'consideration' of posture, emotional interactions, our body processes and our interaction with nature.

Just like Western naturopathic medicine, Japanese naturopathic medicine, recognises things such as "Infections" occurr because the immune system is not functioning at a optimal level!

Conditions such as IBS, PMS, PMT, Headaches, Migraines, Lowered immunity, M.E. Fibromyalgia, Tinnitus, Raised blood pressure, Prostitis, stress, anxiety, libido difficulties, urine tract infections, decreased immunity, skin conditions, etc... are symptoms and imbalances of our health - yet they are also imbalances within the "Big five factors of health"

Which by virtue require an integrated approach!

TJM welcomes people who suffer from these types of conditions because it provides a treatment approach which rather than just treating the individual parts - treats the entire person!

In order to 'harmonize' the internal person, TJM has an approach of treating the 'symptoms' whilst harmonizing the "Big five factors of health" (The Godai - but within Gairon "The bigger picture considerations") to 'balance' the "Godai" (Big five factors of health) which basically means - to treat and reliev the symptoms, whilst also 'boostring' the functions and responses of the person to achieve harmony!

Internal TJM originally used physical therapy and acupressure in conjunction with the 'consuption' of specific foods and teas to help this prevention and recovery process.

These ways are recorded in Japanese history and include the ways from India, China, Korea and Tibet, whilst also having medical/philosophy links with many cultures of our world.

Foods such as the Reishi mushroom and teas such as "Banchi tea" have for more than 5,000 years, been used within TJM.

The use of pressing on 'certain points' and the use of needles, moxa (Burning herbs, the application of herbs and 'oils' from plants have been recognized throughout Asia for more than 5,000 years!

In modern day Japan, nutrition, herbal medicine (Kampo) the use of needles (Hari) visceral drainage (Shindenjutsu) Japanese physical therapies (Anma, Shiatsu, Ampuka, etc) have many years of scientific research - from the East and West. which confirms the effectveness of these approaches! Which are also confirmed by "Western masters"

Dr Upledger - the developer of Cranial Sacral therapy, acknowledges his use of needling techniques (acupuncture) in treatment, Most nutritional therapists and 'Western' herbal medicine practitioners now use some of the herbs/foods from Japan and Asia!

Japanese acupuncture has many different 'directions' which acknowledge Chinese, Indian and other 'cultures' use of needles, stones, crystals and magnets (traditionally magnetic loadstone) and developed their 'own' variation - based on their culture, life experinces and cultural philosophy. Integration - being the answer!

Acupuncture is normally accompanied by physical therapy and visceral balancing to harmonise the entire person (Not just the 'energy') and nutrition/herbs are used to supply the body with the nutrients it requires, the energy of nature and promote good organ functions.

Japanese internal medicine integrates;

Physical therapies - massage, mobilization joint/spine correction, etc...

Acupressure (Shiatsu) visceral - organ/meridian balancing, magnets, crystals, Acupuncture

Nutrition, herbal tonics, exercise, internal breathing, etc

Relaxation, mind and body integration, ergonomics, etc...

Therefore practitioners of Japanese internal medicine are also skilled in physical therapy and 99% of patients recieve more than just needling (Acupuncture) because the person is 'balanced' from head to toe from the inside out.

After all - if the energy is being lost through imbalanced muscles and joints - surely the correct way is to also 'fix' the leaking container.

Oriental meridian balancing and nutrition/herbs recognises the emotional connection between the organs, meridians and struture/physical - therefore this integrated approach is usefull in the prevention and treatment of the mind, body and spirit.
